HEADSTART project organised a Type Approval Webinar aiming to review the regulatory framework related to the testing of Connected and Automated Driving. The webinar was held online on 28th of October 2021, lasted for 90 minutes, and attracted about 40 participants who exchanged knowledge and experience with the project partners. For the people that did not manage to attend, all material is available below.
The two HEADSTART partners – IDIADA and RDW – gathered the HEADSTART expert group and discussed major topics around the type approval. In particular, within the workshop the HEADSTART experts reviewed the latest status of UNECE and EU CAD regulations, while the UN Regulation No. 157 about Automated Lane Keeping Systems (ALKS) was thoroughly presented. Following, the national legislation and exception procedures for the CAD vehicles’ testing on open roads were discussed.
