The entity Valeo Vision is leading the development of research projects and innovative solutions in the fields of Advanced Driving Assistance Systems and Automated Driving. The project team Driving Assistance Research (DAR) working on the research projects for the Automated Driving functions is based in Bobigny, France.
This team of more than 70 people is in charge of integrating the new Automated Driving functions on demo cars for use cases covering Traffic Jam Pilot, Motorway Driving, peri-urban and urban Automated Driving. This team is also in charge of the Valeo research on Artificial Intelligence, especially for image processing and data fusion. Finally, a specific project team is working on research for functional validation and safety validation, combining actions on methodologies as well as practical applications for new functions.
The validation of Automated Driving functions is considered at Valeo as a subject of very high importance, with very high impact on technical design and project developments. Valeo has worked on numerous collaborative projects dealing with this question. The contribution proposal to HEADSTART confirms our long term commitment to excellence in all aspects related to functional or safety validations.
Main role in the project
Valeo is contributing to:
- Positioning requirements of an automated driving localization;
Definition & selection of Use cases for automated driving validation; - Upgrade of the global validation process to address the Key Enabling Technologies challenges;
Test procedures definition for physical & virtual testings;
Demonstration of scenarios testing by simulation on a MIL/SIL bench;
Scientific publications & project communication;
